Fire stop caulking must be installed in all places where holes are drilled thru
headers or footers. Be sure to use ONLY the type of
caulk that will pass your
local inspection. Some inspectors can be finicky and it is a real pain to dig
out unapproved caulk before you reinstall the RIGHT
stuff!
