Another great application for a video camera is monitoring the nursery. Many times parents run to the nursery on an imagined noise only to find their child sleeping peacefully. You only have to do this a few times a night before you become a tired mess from lack of rest! So, how do you view the picture on these various cameras? On the regular TV's throughout the house, of course. Using a thing called an "agile modulator" the signal from the camera can be "modulated" on to a regular TV channel that your local cable service is not using. Then when you flip to channel 94 (or whatever channel has been selected) you can see the front door, channel 95 - the back yard, channel 96 - the driveway, channel 97 - the nursery, etc. Modulators are available in several different types from inexpensive "analog"
units that provide only video to high quality, digital units that feature stereo MTS sound
and excellent picture quality. You could install a single color camera with
modulator for less than $800 in most markets. Drop us an E-mail or give us a call
with the specifics of your project and we will be happy to give you some recommendations. |
